The technology staff at The Central Intermediate Unit # 10 maintains the necessary equipment and software to make operations at the main office as well as the sub offices run smoothly.
 
Information Technology Staff
Ed Catherman - Currently is the Director of Information Technology at the CIU #10 and Director of Non Public School Services. Formerly was the Instructional Mentor who assists the technicians of the school districts with professional development software for the Central Pennsylvania Broadband Network 2 (CPBN2), Classrooms for the Future (CFF), and PATIMS initiative. Works closely with Curriculum for Professional Development and is leading the collaborative coaching initiative at CIU #10.

Tom Rowles -  Information Technology Facilitator, is the Network and Systems Administrator of all servers, computers, laptops and networks of the main office and sub offices of the CIU # 10, is the Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) Administrator, technical support for the Data and Record Tracking System (DaRTS), Video Conference administrator,  technical support for Cogent Systems Fingerprinting for Act 114, System Administrator for the CIU # 10 Google Apps for Education accounts, Technical Support for the Mitel 5320 VoIP Phone System, Software Administrator for CSIU Financial Applications via Terminal Services, System Administrator of File Maker Pro 12, Technical Support for iOS devices such as iPads, iPhones, Master System Administrator for the Online Consortium for Blackboard Learn, System Administrator for all Security Technologies, Operating Systems in Windows Desktop and Servers, Linux, Macintosh Desktop and Servers, and Google Chromebook.

Technology Services

The Central Intermediate Unit has three meeting rooms equipped with various technology to meet the needs of presenters and trainers.
We also have two mobile laptop carts to accommodate the audience for their convenience. 
 
One is a Macintosh Mobile Lab with 20 MacBook laptops loaded with Boot Camp to enable the user to boot up the machine into either Mac OS X 10.6 or Windows 7 Professional. 
 
The other is an MSI Wind Netbook Mobile Lab with 19 netbooks that are Windows 7 Professional.
 
The CIU # 10 also offers a S.M.A.R.T. Board, iPevo -  digital document cameras, and DVD/CD players.  Below are the other resources we provide for presentations and/or trainings:


Videoconferences –The Central Intermediate Unit  # 10 has various videoconference units available so that any conference room in the building can be connected to other districts peer to peer, or bridged from other IU's for trainings from PaTTAN or other agencies.

Content Management - The Central Intermediate Unit # 10 has a Content Management Server - Moodle -http://moodle.ciu10.org.  Contact Ed Catherman or Tom Rowles for details. 
 
Internship Agreements - The Central Intermediate Unit # 10 has Internship Agreements with local colleges, such as, South Hills Business College, State College PA; DuBois Business College, DuBois, PA, and The Pittsburgh Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, PA.  We welcome other institutions with Internships to come and Intern technology with our Tech Department.  If interested, please contact Ed Catherman, Director of Information Technology,Tom Rowles, Information Technology Facilitator, or Edd Brady, Human Resources.
